HORSERACING – Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), in collaboration with Mazad, Bahrain’s leading digital auction and marketplace platform and a Mumtalakat portfolio company, will stage the fourth edition of its Horse Auction between April 26 and 28, and on this occasion, its first digital sale.
First staged in 2023, REHC will once again host its annual sale of racehorses in training, now exclusively delivered via Mazad’s digital platform where users will experience a seamless and transparent online journey.
Registration for the auction is now open, with entries closing on Sunday next week at 2pm.
The auction catalogue will be published on April 21.
At the 2025 edition of the auction, 66 horses were entered, with 49 successfully sold, representing 74.2 per cent of the catalogue and generating a total turnover of BD81,320.
The highest-priced lot sold for BD8,200, marking a 197pc increase in total auction value compared to the previous year and highlighting the growing confidence in the sale as a competitive marketplace for racehorses in training.
By comparison, the 2024 auction saw 41 horses entered, with 28 sold (68.3pc), generating BD27,350 and a top price of BD3,800.
