A video of a rather unusual funeral in Chile has gone viral after people in the clip were seen halting the rituals to watch Chile's debut against Peru in the Copa América on Friday.
Inside the prayer room, friends and family members of the deceased gathered together to watch the Chile-Peru game on a large screen projector, alongside the casket decorated with flowers, soccer trophies and jerseys.
The deceased reportedly was a soccer fan, and thus his loved ones paid tribute to him in the most unusual way.
Next to the coffin was a banner that read "Uncle Feña. Thank you for all the moments you gave us. We will always remember you, your Condorian family.”
The video garnered widespread praise on social media for its unique ceremony honouring a loved one. Others, however, questioned the appropriateness of watching a game amid grief.
