A peace campaign, featuring charity initiatives, painting and the launch of a music album, was staged at the Kerala Catholic Association’s (KCA) premises on July 12.
The initiative was the idea of Indian expatriate and creative Hashim Rahman, supported by media talent Hariz Ekkachu.
Artworks reflecting harmony were designed and the promotional poster of the album Oh God!! Peace by singer Mr Rahman was unveiled.
The first track, in Hindi, of the two-song album is set to be released on Sunday and the second one in Malayalam next month.
Mr Rahman stars in a video promoting the release.
Urdu poet Shahid Meer’s verses and Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish’s quotes feature on the Hindi composition. Together, they bring alive the story of an artist who is upset about war and, through prayer, ‘debates’ with God.
The event was attended by noted members of the community and the album’s creators and crew.
