FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S Riffa have been confirmed as one of eight regional teams that will compete in the 2024-25 Gulf Clubs Championship.
The field was announced by the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), who have scheduled the tournament from September 24 to April 25 next year.
The other participating teams are Al Nasr of the UAE, Al Ettifaq of Saudi Arabia, Al Arabi of Qatar, Al Qadsia of Kuwait, Al Ahli Sanaa of Yemen, Dhofar of Oman and Duhok of Iraq.
The AGCFF executive office held a meeting last May, in which they decided to bring the championship back after a nine-year hiatus, the AGCFF said in a statement.
AGCFF secretary general Jassim Al Rumaihi noted that the participating squads have been nominated by their respective national federations. He added that the official draw will be held at the end of August.
