CHESS – The Bahrain Chess Federation (BCF) is organising the Golden Generation Championship, to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bahrain Table Tennis Association hall at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
The event takes place under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
It will be held within the activities of the Khalid Bin Hamad Golden Generation Games 2024, which aims to involve a large number of national federations in the Golden Generation initiative, in support of efforts to discover and refine young talents for the future.
The tournament is open to players aged 18 and younger. Entry is free but there are limited seats. Registration is still open for the championship. The electronic form for youngsters interested in taking part can be found on the BCF’s Instagram page @bh.chess.
The BCF invites all fans and enthusiasts of the game to attend and follow the competition, which is also a strategic step towards building Bahrain’s next generation of elite chess players.
