ArabiQuest, a gamified Arabic literacy platform for children, won first place in the StartUp Bahrain Pitch series at Youth City 2030.
Founded by Aqeela Allahyari, ArabiQuest aims to make learning Arabic fun and engaging.
Numuw, a platform for child and adolescent behavioural health, took second place. Founded by Ingy Alireza, Numuw connects families, schools, and experts for personalised support.
Other finalists included Bayader, an educational app for entrepreneurs, Twazn, a robo-advisory for personalised investments, and PetPal, a subscription service for pet care products. These startups pitched their ideas to a panel of judges, including Cotyledon founder and chief executive Hassan Ikram, Techstars investment associate Ahmed Eid, Misk 2030 leader Tuba Terekli, and 12x VC founder Laith Zraikat.
Ms Allahyari expressed gratitude for the opportunity to showcase her startup. She said: “This competition has been a turning point, providing us with the support and resources we need to grow. We’re excited to continue innovating in Bahrain.”
Hosted by StartUp Bahrain and supported by Tamkeen, the event was attended by Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi, Tamkeen chief executive Maha Mofeez, and Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) group chief executive Dalal Al Qais.
Ms Terekli delivered a keynote speech on entrepreneurship.
Industry partners included the Industry and Commerce Ministry, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and BDB.
