Bahraini passports of newborns will be delivered at their parents’ doorsteps, Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Under-Secretary Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa announced yesterday (Oct 6).
The move follows the success of NPRA’s pilot project to deliver passports to citizens at their doorsteps.
“The home delivery service has now been extended to newborns,” Shaikh Hisham said.
He added that the service enables citizens to apply for their children’s passports for the first time without the need to visit service centres.
“Personal data would be protected through a verification code sent to citizens to ensure that they receive the passports,” he added.
The new delivery service is available via Bahrain.bh and the NPRA app (Bahrain-NPRA).
It is being launched in co-operation with the Information and eGovernment Authority and TAM Logistics and Trading.
