Archaeologists have uncovered an ancient tomb under the old filming locations of ‘Indiana Jones’ in Petra, Jordan.
Dr. Pearce Creasman, the executive director of the American Centre of Reasearch, led an expedition to study the Treasury.
Using a ground penetrating radar, Creasman and his crew managed to uncover a secret laying beneath the ground, what appeared to be an ancient tomb.
After securing permission from the Jordanian government to dig the site, the archaeologists discovered at least 12 human skeletons and many artefacts estimated to be 2,000 years old.
One of the skeletons discovered held a ceramic vessel that resembled the holy grail from the 1989 film ‘Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade’.
Coincidentally, the film was shot in Petra with the Treasury being the location of the holy grail in the film.
The skeletal remains belong to the civilisation of the Nabataeans, who were ancient Arab nomads.
