US-based Mettler Toledo has launched a new Competence Center at Dubai Science Park that will offer advanced analytical support and training for customers in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
Mettler Toledo is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of weighing instruments for laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications.
The centre will offer customers the company’s broad range of measuring equipment which can enhance industry processes and operations in the region, said a statement from the company.
The advanced support facility will result in process improvements that can enhance throughput and protect profits, said Jean-Claude Alder, general manager of Mettler Toledo Sales International GmbH, it said.
Alder said: “For example, through improving analytical method parameters or advising clients on how to adjust procedures, we can help to ensure they meet productivity, quality and regulatory goals in the most cost-effective way.”
Experts at the centre will provide guidance on all of the company’s lab products – precision balances to titrators and meters. Products specifically designed for samples characterisation, such as moisture analysers, UV/VIS Spectrophotometers and Thermal Analysers, will also be available for demonstration and use at the centre, said a statement.
“Analytical products find application across many industries, including petrochemicals,” said Alder.
“Additionally, certain of the company’s technologies may be of particular importance to food and pharmaceutical producers at this time, as industries are facing increasingly stringent regulatory climates and a softening economy globally,” he added.
Experts will also help determine if equipment being considered is the most appropriate for a lab’s intended purpose. Such hands-on training is designed to train operators so they can start with new equipment right away and as an alternative to on-site training, it added.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, executive director at Dubai Science Park, a member of Tecom Group, said: “The new centre is another example of how Dubai Science Park is helping businesses to engage with their customers through training that has the potential to improve understanding of the latest scientific technologies, enhance industry processes and ensure greater accuracy in their work.”
In addition to direct technical assistance, the Competence Center will make it easier for the company to support the region’s developing industries through trade show participation, it said.
Adler further stated: “We expect to make significant contributions to the petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industries from this regional anchor point.”
Partners and customers across the region were given an opportunity to tour the new facility during the launch of the centre, added the statement.
“We look forward to showing our valued partners and customers how we can support their research and development, quality and production goals in person,” Alder concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
