His Majesty King Hamad has been briefed on the progress of implementing the Royal Vision for the development of Muharraq City.
It aims to preserve Muharraq’s cultural and historical identity.
His Majesty was updated on the project’s implementation by Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna Al Romaihi during an audience at Sakhir Palace yesterday.
Ms Al Romaihi also outlined the planned development of Shaikh Isa Al Kabeer Palace and Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa Mosque.
The minister briefed His Majesty on the completed stages, including the issuance of a tender for appointing the consultancy firm, the preparation of preliminary designs, the initiation of property expropriation within the development areas and the plan to commence construction work.
His Majesty expressed his appreciation to the minister and all government entities involved in the project, commending their continuous efforts to deliver quality housing services and contribute to the kingdom’s urban development.
He underscored the significance of the Muharraq City development project, given the city’s deep-rooted identity and enduring heritage.
His Majesty also expressed Bahrain’s pride in its culture, heritage and rich history, which stem from its Arab and Islamic identity.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of citizens across all sectors, emphasising the importance of ensuring dignified living conditions for families, while preserving national achievements and maintaining their sustainability for future generations.
Ms Al Romaihi expressed her appreciation to His Majesty for his insightful directives.
