SIX dogs were adopted and three fostered following an event aimed at finding homes for abandoned pets in Bahrain.
The ‘Dog Adoption Day’ was held by Bahrain Strays, an organisation working to rescue and re-home stray animals in the kingdom, in collaboration with Hilton Bahrain.
The event, at the hospital’s premises in Juffair, showcased 30 cute and cuddly rescued dogs which received free grooming, vet check-ups and treats on the occasion.
“The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement, and by the end of the event, several dogs found their new families, marking a significant step in their journey to a better life,” said Hilton Bahrain general manager Tamer Farouk.
“We are thrilled to have hosted the event, which not only supports the incredible work of Bahrain Strays, but also fosters a sense of community.
“Every dog deserves a loving home, and it warms our hearts to see so many potential adopters come together for this cause.”
Meanwhile, Bahrain Strays representative Bayan Abdulla said, “Every adoption brings us one step closer to giving these deserving dogs the home they deserve.”
The event, supported by OKA Veterinary Clinic, GS Pets, Smart Pet and Vet, Pet Studio, BarxnBones and Paws N’Tails, aimed to encourage people to adopt their pets from animal shelters, which are already overcrowded with hundreds of abandoned dogs and cats, rather than buying from pet stores.
All proceeds were donated to Bahrain Strays.
