An Egyptian court sentenced famous Egyptian singer Saad Al Soghayar to three years in prison with a fine of 30,000 Egyptian pounds (BD228) on Monday.
The singer was caught with illegal drugs at Cairo airport upon his arrival from the US.
Saad was caught in possession of cannabis and tramadol that he intended to consume with medical reports showing that he had already consumed those substances.
However, in court, he denied using drugs claiming he did not smoke cigarettes and took tramadol for medical reasons.
