A fireworks display at Water Garden City will be among a rich festive programme has been lined up in the Capital and Southern governorates to celebrate the National Day and His Majesty King Hamad’s Accession to the Throne.
Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa has affirmed keenness to support 15 events scheduled for December to mark the kingdom’s national holidays.
He commended the tremendous efforts made by public and private establishments to support the festivities and enhance community partnership.
The Capital Secretariat Director General Mohammed Al Sahli said the national celebrations across the kingdom reflect patriotism and allegiance to the nation and its leadership.

The Water Garden City will hold a celebration on December 15, including a fireworks display, a children’s fun park, a folklore music show, an entrepreneurs’ bazaar and competitions and prizes for visitors.
Also among the highlights are the 11th Bahrain Bike Week Festival, Ahlia University celebration, the ‘Nation of Pride’ festival by the Applied Science University, a poetry evening, a productive families exhibition by Tubli Charity Society, Al Qadisiyah Youth Empowerment Centre celebration, a photo gallery at the Alumni Club and a motivators marathon that will be held in co-operation with Bahrain Motivators Association.
Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa said a series of events had been planned for the National Day and Accession Day celebrations. Al Salam Bank will be the platinum sponsor and Al Ahli Bank the golden sponsor, he said.
The festive programme includes celebrations and Ardha shows in Riffa on December 9, Khalifa City on December 10, and Zallaq on December 11.
Khalifa Grand Park will host the National Day Festival on December 15, which will highlight the rich heritage of the Southern Governorate. Bahrain International Circuit will also be the venue of a variety of festive programmes from Thursday to December 17.
“A national radio competition will also be held for the fifth consecutive year from December 10 to 16,” the Southern Governor revealed, pointing out that the competition will be organised in co-operation with the General Directorate of Information and Security Culture and Radio Bahrain.
“The aim is to revive the rich historical and cultural legacy with a question announced through Radio Bahrain and the Southern Governorate application on smart devices,” he said.
