BAHRAIN will not forget the sacrifices of its fallen servicemen as they are forever etched in the kingdom’s history, declared HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The sacrifices will also serve as a source of inspiration for current and future generations, he added.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Commission for the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen, made these remarks as he chaired a meeting of the commission at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
HRH Prince Salman underlined the steadfast support of His Majesty King Hamad for the commission, highlighting its role in providing care for the families of Bahrain’s military service members who have lost their lives in the service of the country, and ensuring they lead prosperous lives.
He also underscored the fund’s vital role in supporting the families of fallen servicemen and ensuring their needs are met, highlighting the efforts of the fund’s administrators in fulfilling its objectives and achieving the purposes for which it was established.
The King issued a Royal order on April 6, 2016 setting up the fund.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister paid tribute to the chivalry and courage of the kingdom’s fallen servicemen, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the Bahraini citizens who continue to demonstrate dedication, loyalty and integrity in safeguarding the nation and its people.
The most prominent topics on the fund’s agenda, as well as mechanisms to support the fund’s families were reviewed.
Attending the meeting were National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander and commission vice-president Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant General Abdulla Al Nuaimi and commission members.
