An Air India Express flight bound for Bahrain from Kerala with 100 passengers was ‘called back’ shortly after departure following reports of a suspected issue with its tyre.
A Cochin International Airport source told multiple Indian media outlets that the issue was detected soon after the passenger aircraft took off.
Flight IX 471 landed safely at the airport at 12.35pm (India Standard Time).
“A full emergency that had been declared at the airport to ensure the safe landing of the aircraft was later withdrawn,” an airport spokesperson told the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency.
