The excitement surrounding Bahrain’s title showdown with Oman tonight in the 26th Gulf Cup in Kuwait has reached fever pitch all across the kingdom.
Fans who have not made the trip to the Kuwaiti capital for the match will be cheering on the senior men’s football national team from home soil, and public and private institutions are doing their part to accommodate supporters.
The Information Ministry is inviting fans to join in celebrating the final in a festive, heritage-inspired setting as part of the Heritage Village Festival, sponsored by Bank Al Salam, in Ras Hayyan.
The ministry praised the support from Al Salam Bank, highlighting the importance of such community partnerships. It also noted that this event reflects the ministry’s ongoing efforts to blend sports with cultural heritage, fostering social connections, and providing an enriching experience for all members of the family.
The ministry encourages everyone to take part in this special event, which combines the excitement of football with a celebration of Bahrain’s traditions, all in a uniquely patriotic atmosphere. The match will be shown live at the venue.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced yesterday that it has increased operational capacity at Bahrain International Airport to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic to Kuwait.
BAC is also organising several activities for both passengers and staff, including live screenings of the match in designated areas of the terminal to enhance the travel experience. Staff will also wear the national team’s red shirts to show solidarity with the team.
With the expected increase in passenger numbers, BAC recommends using Parking Lot A, where shuttle buses will transport travellers to the terminal. Passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flights, in line with the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s guidelines.
BAC has implemented measures to ensure smooth operations such as improved parking management, dedicated check-in counters, and additional staff at key checkpoints. These efforts are being co-ordinated with strategic partners, including airport police, immigration, customs, Gulf Air, and Bahrain Airport Services, to ensure a seamless experience for all travellers.
