The people of Pakistan celebrate March 23 every year with great zeal and enthusiasm, commemorating the historic Pakistan Resolution passed on this day in 1940 at Minto Park (now Iqbal Park), Lahore.
This landmark resolution was a formal political declaration that ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan.
On this day, Pakistan’s national flag is hoisted on public and government buildings at dawn, followed by a ceremonial change of guard at the mausoleums of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, where floral wreaths are laid as a tribute.
The highlight of Pakistan Day celebrations is the grand parade at Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.
Additionally, an award ceremony is held where the President confers military and civilian honours upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation.
The significance of this resolution is immortalised by Minar-e-Pakistan, a monument standing tall in Iqbal Park, Lahore, symbolising the realisation of independence and national pride.
On this momentous occasion, Pakistan Urdu School Bahrain extends heartfelt congratulations to all Pakistanis residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
