More than 180 children were killed in a single day due to Israel’s continuous bombardment of the Gaza Strip, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said in a post on Facebook.
“Following the resumption of Israeli bombardment across the Gaza Strip, reports indicate that hundreds have been killed, including more than 180 children in a single day,” it wrote.
“Bodies remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, and doctors describe how many of the injured died before their eyes while they were unable to treat them,” it added, calling to stop war immediately.
Israel ended a ceasefire with Hamas on March 18 when it launched a sudden wave of air strikes on the strip, killing hundreds of Palestinians.
The Health Ministry in Gaza said 830 Palestinians have been killed since Israel resumed its onslaught on the enclave last week. “Hospitals received 39 martyrs over the past 24 hours,” it added.
The government media office in Gaza said in a statement yesterday that 85pc of the citizens in Gaza had lost essential food sources due to the suspension of aid.
“The markets are empty of goods, threatening an imminent famine and serious consequences,” it affirmed.
