Warning sirens were heard across Bahrain this morning as the General Directorate of Civil Defence conducted a nationwide test of the kingdom’s emergency alert system.
The test, which began at 9am, was part of precautionary civil protection measures aimed at reviewing and enhancing the National Emergency Response Plan.
Authorities stressed that the activation was purely a test to evaluate the effectiveness of the siren system and ensure its readiness in the event of actual emergencies or natural disasters.
The test also served as an opportunity to measure the level of public awareness and response to such warnings.
