Five people have been arrested after police raided a property and found what appears to be a cannabis factory growing drugs with a market value of more than BD1 million.
The Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science said the individuals were of different nationalities, aged between 28 to 51.
They have been accused of drug dealing and planting narcotics in a house ‘equipped for such purpose’.
The directorate said officers were working on a tip-off and an investigation was launched. Legal proceedings are continuing and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Alert members of the public can email 996@interior.gov.bh, call the hotline on 996 and operations room hotline 999 confidentially if they are concerned about illicit activities in their neighbourhood.
