We’re celebrating World Autism Awareness month and individuals and groups in the kingdom are coming together to spread awareness about ASD and express solidarity towards the cause.
GulfWeekly is joining this ‘movement’ with its own initiative through the Speak Your Mind platform. There couldn’t be a better time to educate ourselves on autism and the challenges it entails for not just the individuals on the spectrum but also their families.
Our April topic tackles ‘how being a care giver for autistic individuals affects mental health’.
We invite you, our family of readers, to write to us with personal anecdotes (your experiences or those of others that you might have observed); social challenges like judgement, anxiety worrying about the individual’s future, physical strain ultimately impacting mental well-being, etc.
Share your views in no more than 100 words by emailing gdnnews@gdnmedia.bh or @gdnonline on Instagram by April 23. We will publish a selection of the comments received in GulfWeekly - only ‘original’ entries will be considered for the top submission and win a box of Raw Candy vegan chocolates as a token of our appreciation.
Together, let’s keep the conversation going!
