MMA – THE official weigh-ins for BRAVE CF 95: Return to Tenerife took place yesterday at the Pabellón Santiago Martín in Tenerife, Spain, ahead of the third Spanish event today.
The night will be headlined by a high-stakes lightweight showdown featuring hometown hero Acoidan Duque against French road-warrior Jason Ponet.
Both men hit the scale exactly on the 70.8 kg lightweight limit. Duque at 70.8 kg and Ponet at 70.8 kg, making their main event officially set. In the co-main event, former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres weighed in at 56.9 kg, comfortably under the 57.2 kg flyweight limit – marking the first time he has successfully made the flyweight limit in nearly five years while Kazakhstan’s Dias Yerengaipov checked in at 57.1 kg.
Every other athlete also made weight cleanly: Spain’s Enrique Marín (75.1 kg) vs. Germany’s Christian Mach (75.2 kg) at 75.3 kg super lightweight; Dutch debutant Daan Duijs (66.2 kg) vs. Georgia’s Ilia Qarukhnishvili (66.2 kg) at 66.22 kg featherweight; Algeria’s Abdelkrim Zouad (77.2 kg) vs. Austria’s Muslim Danaev (77.3 kg) at 77.3 kg catchweight; Spain’s Theo Bashford (66.2 kg) vs. Germany’s Eduard Evdokimov (66.2 kg) at 66.2 kg featherweight; Spain’s Juan Carlos Izquierdo (62.8 kg) vs. Poland’s Jakub Drozdowski (62.8 kg) at 63 kg catchweight; and Spain’s Reda Abdellaoui (61.62 kg) vs. Romania’s Moraru Gheorghe (61.6 kg) at 61.68 kg bantamweight.
With the scales now set and no weight misses, BRAVE CF 95 is poised to deliver another night of explosive, internationally-flavoured MMA action as part of its ‘Year of the BRAVE’ European expansion.
