MOTORSPORT – VERSTAPPEN.COM Racing, supported by Bahraini-British GT team 2 Seas Motorsport, secured a fantastic podium in class yesterday in the second round of the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
The meeting took place in Monza, Italy, and 2 Seas, co-owned by Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, are backing Verstappen.com Racing in the series. Verstappen.com Racing is the official racing programme of four-time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen.
Sharing the driving duties in their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, the Verstappen.com Racing trio of Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham, and Harry King finished as runners-up yesterday in the championship’s Gold Cup.
After starting third in class, they ranked 15th overall amongst a grid of nearly 60 cars that battled in the race, completing 84 laps while going one minute 01.899 seconds behind winners Lucas Auer, Matteo Cairoli, and Maro Engel of Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER, driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.
Taking first place amongst the Gold Cup contenders were Jens Klingmann, Ben Tuck, and Al Faisal Al Zubair of Al Manar Racing by WRT in a BMW M4 GT3 EVO, while completing the podium in class were Tresor Attempto Racing in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, driven by Sebastian Ogaard, Leonardo Moncini, and Riccardo Cazzaniga.
Yesterday’s result earned Verstappen.com Racing back-to-back runner-up finishes in the five-event season. They had previously also finished second in the campaign’s opening event at Paul Ricard Circuit in France.
The teams will be back on the grid for round three of the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with its marquee Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium from June 25 to 29. The penultimate endurance meeting will then take place August 29 to 31 at the Nurburgring in Germany, setting the stage for the championship finale, which will be from October 10 to 12 in Barcelona, Spain.
