Los Angeles, California: Video footage captures the moment an Australian journalist was struck by a rubber bullet on Sunday while reporting live during the Los Angeles protests.
9News said in a statement that the reporter and camera operator were safe and able to continue working
9News reporter, Lauren Tomasi, had just delivered a piece to camera for viewers in Australia when an armed police officer in riot gear behind her shot her with a rubber bullet.

“Lauren and her camera operator are safe and will continue their essential work covering these events,” Nine said in a statement.
“This incident serves as a stark reminder of the inherent dangers journalists can face while reporting from the frontlines of protests, underscoring the importance of their role in providing vital information."
Protesters have been demonstrating for three days in response to President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement.
