BAHRAIN and Egypt have expressed deep concern over the ongoing escalation between Israel and Iran.
His Majesty King Hamad received a telephone call from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi yesterday during which both leaders stressed the need for all parties to act responsibly and to pursue a resolution through dialogue and peaceful means.
They warned that further expansion of the conflict could have far-reaching and severe repercussions for the entire region.
Furthermore, they discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip, underscoring the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the swift and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in the Strip.
The leaders also discussed other regional and international developments.
His Majesty and President Al Sisi emphasised the strength of the long-standing relations between Bahrain and Egypt.
They also reiterated their shared keenness to enhance co-operation in various domains to support the aspirations of both countries and their peoples for development and prosperity.
The King thanked President Al Sisi for the call and for his keen interest in promoting efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve regional peace and stability.
