No abnormal radiation levels have been detected in Bahrain’s atmosphere, the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) has stated.
Environmental monitoring efforts are continuing in co-ordination with relevant national authorities to track radiation indicators and levels, it said in a statement yesterday.
Co-ordination also continues with the GCC Emergency Management Centre under the GCC general secretariat and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The SCE emphasised the importance of obtaining information from official sources and avoiding the circulation of rumours or unverified information.
It affirmed that it was closely monitoring the environmental situation in Bahrain through surveillance and monitoring stations which are operating round the clock in all governorates.
Necessary updates will be issued should any developments arise.
