Bahrain’s youth basketball national team split their first two tune-up games during their ongoing overseas training camp in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The kingdom’s youngsters first outclassed their counterparts from a local Ilidza club 72-35, according to the Bahrain Basketball Association.
They then suffered a narrow loss 64-67 in overtime against national youth league champions Spars. The Bahrainis are in their camp gearing up for the U16 Asia Cup Gulf Basketball Association (GBA) Qualifiers 2025, which is set to be hosted by the kingdom from July 7 to 12.
The Bahraini squad’s programme in Sarajevo is being supervised by their Tunisian head coach Rasem Al Marzouki. In the GBA event, the participating six-nation field has been divided into two groups – Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE are in Group A, while Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain are in Group B.
