SNOOKER – BAHRAIN’S Habib Sabah and Khalil Busaif bowed out in the quarter-final stage of the Asian Men’s Team Snooker Championship 2025, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Sabah and Busaif secured their berth after winning two of their three matches in Group D of the tournament’s round-robin phase. Their campaign included wins against Sri Lanka Two and China, and a loss against Pakistan Two.
That set up a clash against Hong Kong One’s Hon Man Chau, Kwok Wai Fung, and Nansen Sin Man Wan in their opening best-of-five frames knockout encounter, which the Bahraini pair lost 0-3.
Sabah was beaten in the opening frame 31-62, and then Busaif was narrowly defeated 52-53 in the second. Sabah and Busaif then teamed up but lost 51-73 in the third frame as Hong Kong claimed their sweep.
India’s Pankaj Advani, Brijesh Damani, and Aditya Mehta were eventually crowned champions, after beating Malaysia 3-1 in the final.
The Asian Men’s Team Snooker Championship 2025 was organised by the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS).
