A lively discussion about ocean conservation, organised by the Youth Affairs Ministry, Alliance Française Bahrain and the French Embassy, was staged for sustainable development goals supporters at the Bahrain Science Centre in Isa Town.
Focusing on scientific engagement and dialogue, the discussion titled ‘Bahar Talks’ began with a documentary about coral ecosystems in the Pacific Ocean.
The screening of the 2017 film Tara, the Coral Odyssey was followed by a roundtable panel which brought together ocean advocates and experts, who discussed the documentary and reflected on its findings.

The event came as a follow-up to the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) which took place last month in Nice.
The panel was moderated by the Arab Youth Council for Climate Change Bahrain representative Aysha Alsherooqi.
Among the experts were Bahrain Diving Volunteer Team Authority president and Sea World Expo Bahrain 2025 chief executive Khaled Al Saeed, marine biologists Sylvain Kreuter, Dr Reem Al Mealla and Rahma Aleskafi, along with UNOC3 summit delegate Fatima Alzaki.
