The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain has installed a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station, underscoring its commitment to supporting Bahrain’s vision for a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
The initiative aligns with the kingdom’s national drive to promote renewable energy and expand green infrastructure, as part of its broader goal to foster the widespread adoption of electric mobility.
“At The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain we are committed to powering the future of luxury travel,” said general manager Bernard de Villèle.
“This innovative implementation aligns with our dedication to sustainability and enhancing the luxury experience for eco-conscious travellers.
“Our guests can now charge their electric vehicles while enjoying world-class dining and hospitality.”
With increasing numbers of residents and visitors opting for EVs, the hotel’s latest upgrade ensures guests have convenient access to high-quality charging facilities during their stay or visit.

The charging station provides DC and AC power options
The newly-installed station offers both AC and DC charging options, supporting up to 22kW for AC and up to 150kW for DC fast charging.
A standard 7kW home charger would typically require around 14 hours for a full charge from 0 to 100 per cent, while the DC fast charger can power a vehicle from 20pc to 80pc in approximately 42 minutes – ideal for guests enjoying a spa session or lunch at one of the resort’s award-winning restaurants.
Unlike traditional refuelling, the resort encourages visitors to ‘recharge while you relax”, with EV charging seamlessly integrated into the luxury hospitality experience.
The installation is also a reflection of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable innovation.
As Bahrain expands its electric vehicle charging infrastructure under the banner of the government’s ‘Greener Roads Ahead’, the hotel noted that it is proud to contribute to this progress and lead by example.
