His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, were congratulated by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), on the military Muay Thai team’s achievement of two silver medals at the first Military Muay Thai World Championship.
The championship, held in Thailand from July 8 to 14, witnessed participants from 11 countries in action.
The achievement adds to Bahrain’s continued international sporting achievements. Ali Abu Hamda won the silver medal in the 57kg category, while Abdullah Jamal won silver in the 54kg category.
