BASKETBALL – SIXTEEN teams will feature in the grand finale of the Bahrain 3x3 Summer Tour 2025, which will be held this Friday at the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) Arena in Um Al Hassam.
The event boasts Quest status on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour, with the winners punching their ticket to a yet-to-be-determined Masters competition on this year’s Fiba 3x3 World Tour.
Twelve of the 16 teams have earned their spots based on their strong results in the six rounds of qualifying, including ATBB, Blackwall, BS Action, Falcons, Muharraq Club, Future Academy, Saar, Chill Bros, Jokers, American University of Bahrain, Ora, and Tranquilo.
The organising committee has also granted four invitations to the teams of Seef, Al Hoor, Al Ettihad Club, and Mini Wolves.
Tournament director Ahmed Elias emphasised that the participation of neutral international referees in the final round reflects the BBA’s commitment to providing the highest levels of professionalism in game management, especially since this stage of the Bahrain 3x3 Summer Tour is directly supervised by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
“We are proud of the tournament’s tremendous success since its inception, both in terms of its organisation, its outstanding technical level, and the wide participation of local teams,” said Elias. “This tournament, in its first edition, has become a fundamental pillar in developing 3x3 basketball in Bahrain and strengthening its presence on the international stage.”
The Bahrain 3x3 Summer Tour 2025 is part of the BBA’s agenda aimed at promoting basketball during the summer and providing a competitive platform for the game’s enthusiasts in a dynamic format, played on a half-court with one hoop.
This championship represents a key initiative by the BBA to expand the participation base and establish Bahrain’s presence on the international 3x3 circuit. This edition marks the launch of what will become an annual event.
