BOWLING – BAHRAIN’S junior bowling national team wrapped up their participation in the 24th Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The quartet of Rashid Al Dalhan, Faisal Bader, Ali Al Awadhi, and Abdulkarim Al Jahromi competed in the boys’ singles, doubles, and team of four events amongst a talented field of 79 players, both boys and girls, representing 11 countries from across Asia. The tournament was organised and run by the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF).
In the boys’ all events final rankings, Al Dalhan was the kingdom’s top player, taking 52nd place overall. He had a 3,100 individual pinfalls total for a 172.22 average. He scored 983 in his singles foray, 1,049 in the doubles, and then 504 and 564 in the two blocks of the team of four competition.
Bader followed in 55th overall with a 2,943 total and 163.50 average. He had the best singles score of 999, and then posted a 1,003 in the doubles. He completed his campaign with 473 and 468 in the team of four blocks.
Al Awadhi and Al Jahromi were classified 57th and 58th, respectively. Al Awadhi posted a 2,806 total and 155.89 average, scoring 883 in the singles, 1,009 in the doubles, and then 467 and 447 in the two team of four blocks. Al Jahromi, on the other hand, took down 2,689 pins for a 149.89 average, finishing with totals of 876 in the singles, 860 in the doubles, and 468 and 494 in the two blocks of the team of four.
Bahrain’s players were guided in the tournament by national team coach Mohammed Janahi, while the kingdom’s delegation was headed by Bahrain Bowling Association secretary general Issa Taqi.
The other nations in the fray are China, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and hosts Qatar.
