A viral LinkedIn post by an Indian human resources (HR) professional revealed that an employee resigned just five minutes after receiving their first salary.
“Salary credited at 10.00 AM, resignation emailed at 10.05 AM,” wrote the HR professional.
The post sparked a debate on social media as the HR professional expressed dismay and questioned the ethics of the decision.
“Let’s talk about professional ethics. The company welcomed you, trusted you, and gave you a platform to grow. And then—five minutes after your first salary hit your account—you walked away. Was that fair? Was it ethical?” the HR professional wrote.
Many LinkedIn users chimed in with their own comments, agreeing and disagreeing with the decision.
