FOOTBALL – Champions Muharraq will take on long-time rivals Al Ahli in their season-opening fixture of the 2025-26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
The match-ups for the first 11 match weeks of the new season were determined last night at the official draw ceremony, held by the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) at its headquarters in Riffa.
Representatives from the league’s 12 participating clubs – Muharraq, Al Khaldiya, Sitra, Riffa, Al Shabab, Malkiya, Al Najma, Ahli, Bahrain Club, A’ali, Budaiya, and Hidd – were in attendance.
The league is scheduled to kick off with match week one starting on September 11, where Muharraq and Ahli clash. Khaldiya take on A’ali, while Sitra face Bahrain Club. Riffa and Najma go head-to-head, Shabab play Budaiya, and Malkiya take on Hidd.
The first 11 match weeks will continue until the 11th week, which starts on January 8 next year.
The 2025-26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League will be played in a double round-robin. The ensuing 11-match weeks are to be scheduled.
