Message from Pakistan Ambassador Saqib Rauf
“As we celebrate the 78th anniversary of independence of our beloved country, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to the Pakistani community residing in the kingdom of Bahrain. I also wish to congratulate our community on the remarkable success of Pakistan in Ma’arka-e-Haq.
“Pakistan’s Independence Day holds a special place in our hearts. It reminds us of the long and arduous struggle waged by our forefathers, marked by countless sacrifices.
“This struggle reminds us of the unwavering determination of our leadership for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent where they can live freely with honour and dignity.
“Pakistan seeks peaceful coexistence with all its neighbours.
“Our foremost priority is economic development and uplifting the standard of living for our people. To achieve this, we aim to foster win-win partnerships with international allies and actively engage our overseas Pakistani community to attract investment in high-return ventures.
“We firmly believe that the global community must unite to confront common threats such as poverty, climate change and violations of human rights. Moreover, we urge all nations to uphold international law and honour established agreements to ensure lasting peace.
“Recent regional developments have shown that escalating tensions into military conflict benefits no one.
“Such hostilities threaten the peace and stability of entire regions. We call on the international community to act responsibly and work towards the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions to resolve long-standing disputes such as those in Kashmir and Palestine as per aspiration of the people for lasting peace.
“The role of the overseas Pakistani community in realising Pakistan’s vision of peace and prosperity is both critical and deeply valued. The leadership of Pakistan acknowledges and appreciates these contributions at the highest level.
“Bahrain has remained one of the favourite destinations of Pakistani community since long. Many of Pakistanis have made Bahrain their home. The diaspora has effectively acted as a bridge between these two brotherly nations.
“We are truly grateful for the warm hospitality extended to our community by the government and people of Bahrain.
“We express our sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the people of Bahrain for their continued support and generosity.
“Once again, I would like to remind Pakistani community in Bahrain that this day reminds us about the sacrifices given to achieve an independent home, urges us to put our utmost efforts for peace, progress and prosperity of this country and guides us to carve out a course of action which make the nation feel proud among the comity of nations.”
