FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S under-17 football national team are hard at work in their ongoing overseas training camp in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The nationals are in Sarajevo as part of their preparations for their upcoming competitions, headlined by the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers in November.
They have stepped up their programme on and off the pitch under the supervision of head coach Ugo Klingor from Croatia.
The Bahrainis are also scheduled to play four friendly games during their trip – two against local clubs and another pair against Bosnia and Herzegovina’s under-17 national team.
The first match is scheduled for today against their counterparts from FK Sarajevo.
They then go up against FK Zeljeznicar Sarajevo on Thursday, before playing the host nation’s youth squad on August 25 and 28.
They are then scheduled to return to the kingdom the next day. The AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers are scheduled for November 22 to 30.
Bahrain have been drawn in Group A, to be held in China, alongside the hosts, Bangladesh, Brunei, Timor-Leste, and Sri Lanka.
