The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Friday Kuwait's condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation's approval to build new settlements around occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.
A Statement by the ministry said that this matter threatens the security and stability of the region and represents a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
It also violates Security Council Resolution 2334 and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of settlements and the invalidity of the annexation of occupied Palestinian territories, the statement added.
The ministry stressed that this settlement move would nullify international efforts aimed at establishing a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It also renewed its call on the international community and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities to stop these violations and provide protection for Palestinian people.
