A five-year-old child in Egypt was tragically killed after his father left him with a drug dealer as collateral for a dose of crystal meth.
According to reports, the drug dealer beat the child to death while trying to silence his cries. He then dumped the body on the side of a road in the Giza town of Kerdasa. The decomposing body was discovered after residents reported a foul smell.
Police investigations revealed that the father, addicted to methamphetamine, left his son as a guarantee when he couldn't pay for his drugs. The child's crying reportedly prompted the dealer to strike him in the head, causing his death.
Authorities have arrested the dealer and an accomplice. The father was also taken in for questioning and confessed to his actions. He admitted the child was born from an unregistered marriage and had no birth certificate.
