GYMNASTICS – SPARTA gymnasts delivered outstanding performances at a recent competition held in Dubai, proudly representing both St Christopher’s School and Bahrain.
The athletes impressed across a range of apparatus and age groups, bringing home an excellent haul of medals.
Three of the Sparta gymnasts excelled across all apparatus and placed overall in their categories. They included Zeina, who was the overall champion in level two; Juju, who claimed second place overall in level two; and Arabella, the overall champion in level three.
In the level two events, Zeina won three silver medals on floor, on beam, and on bars; while Juju captured gold on floor and two bronze medals on beam and on bars.
Lara secured a gold medal on floor and a silver on vault, Adelaide clinched a silver medal on vault, and Sella won a bronze medal on floor.
In level three, Arabella won three silver medals and one bronze medal. Her silver medals were on vault, on beam, and on bars, while her bronze was on floor.
Zoe added two bronze medals on floor and on bars, while Rita took a silver medal on beam.
The Sparta gymnasts showed great determination, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the event, demonstrating the strength and depth of Sparta’s gymnastics programme.
Coaches Sara Axtell and Glenn Smith said they were extremely proud of all the gymnasts and the way they represented the club.
Looking ahead, Sparta will be holding open trials for gymnasts aged seven years old and above, with existing experience, on Sunday and Monday.
