The Cabinet has commended the address delivered by His Majesty King Hamad during the inauguration of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and Parliament.
In his address, the King welcomed the progress of joint efforts between the legislative and executive branches.
Yesterday’s Cabinet session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace.
The session reaffirmed that co-operation between the legislative and executive branches is a cornerstone of Bahrain’s constitutional system, built on values upheld for generations by the kingdom’s leadership.
The Cabinet emphasised the kingdom’s commitment to economic recovery and financial sustainability in line with Royal directives, ensuring support for eligible beneficiaries, particularly in essential services for Bahraini citizens.
The Cabinet noted that the allocation of support will be carried out in co-ordination with the legislative authority.
The Cabinet outlined that the Royal directives guide the government’s workstreams, ensuring that citizens receive the highest quality of services and remain the top priority.
The Cabinet commended the winners of the 2025 Unesco King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education, reaffirming that the King’s continued support has strengthened the prize’s standing over its more than 20-year history.
The session also reviewed a report submitted by the Education Minister in this regard.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to Egypt on the election of its candidate as director general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).
The Cabinet emphasised that the achievement reflects the international community’s appreciation for Egypt’s effective foreign policy under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
The Cabinet reviewed the progress of implementing the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Labour Ministry to provide three job opportunities for every registered Bahraini job-seeker before the end of the year.
This aligns with the vision of His Majesty to facilitate opportunities for citizens across sectors, ministers heard.
The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to the ministry for its efforts in conducting 7,888 interviews for job-seekers registered with the ministry since the issuance of the directives.
Ministers also extended its appreciation to the Bahrain Chamber for its role in facilitating job opportunities.
The Cabinet encouraged national companies and private sector institutions to support the National Employment Platform at the ministry by providing job opportunities for citizens.
It followed up on the procedures taken to implement the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to establish the Innovation Competition in Irrigation Solutions, aimed at enhancing the use of excess treated water across agriculture and afforestation initiatives.
The competition also seeks to ensure resource sustainability, preserve the environment and raise environmental awareness.
The Cabinet commended, in this regard, the positive nationwide participation in this year’s National Tree Week, which was launched by HRH Prince Salman.
The session highlighted the significance of initiatives that empower Bahraini youth and commended the role of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) chaired by Prime Minister’s Court Minister and Tamkeen board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in fostering opportunities for citizens and supporting programmes that enhance Bahrain’s skilled workforce and promote entrepreneurship as a top priority in the labour market.
The Cabinet commended the kingdom’s hosting of FinTech Forward 2025, during which 38 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed across the financial services sector.
This reflects the kingdom’s capabilities in strengthening international co-operation in financial technology and related fields.
The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain’s Pavilion, titled ‘Connecting Seas’, for winning the Gold Award for Best Architecture and Landscape in the self-built pavilions category at Expo 2025 Osaka, presented by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
Ministers praised the efforts of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities president, the commissioner general of the Bahrain Pavilion and all the authority’s personnel, whose relentless dedication led to this honourable achievement.
The Cabinet commended the kingdom’s digital projects that won awards at the GCC Digital Government Awards, emphasising that this achievement reflects Bahrain’s commitment to advancing government services and driving digital innovation.
The session welcomed the inclusion of the University of Bahrain (UoB) in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the first time since its establishment in 1986.
It stressed that the milestone reflects the kingdom’s progress in the educational sector and the global recognition of UoB’s academic programmes.
The Cabinet reviewed a report submitted by the Education Minister in this regard.
Marking Bahraini Engineers’ Day, the Cabinet commended the role played by the kingdom’s engineers and congratulated them for their contributions to Bahrain’s development.
The Cabinet underscored that the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip marks a historic day of peace for the Middle East and the world.
It expressed the kingdom’s gratitude for the efforts of US President Donald Trump, underscoring the importance of all parties to the conflict honouring their commitments and responsibilities to ensure its full implementation, as well as the efforts of mediators in reaching the agreement.
The Cabinet also reviewed and approved several memoranda. It then reviewed the several ministerial reports.
