Kuwait has officially lifted the nationwide ban on the popular online game Roblox, which had been blocked in the country since August.
The decision comes after the game's parent company agreed to implement a set of new safety and content restrictions requested by Kuwaiti authorities.
Kuwait’s Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) lifted the ban following an agreement with the parent company who would remove content and language deemed offensive to Kuwaiti customs, traditions, and moral values.
According to an Arab Times Kuwait report, one of the key conditions is the complete disabling of the in-game chat feature, which raised serious concerns about child safety and exposure to inappropriate interactions.
The agreement also obligates the company to implement additional safety measures and parental protections within the game.
CITRA officials said they will continue to closely monitor the game's content and features to ensure ongoing compliance.
