The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), through its Bahrain Hub, hosted a high-profile networking event at the British Embassy in Manama, aiming to advance professionalism and collaboration across the construction sector.
The event, themed ‘Building Bridges: Uniting Visions, Forging Futures,’ brought together industry professionals, academics, and emerging leaders to share expertise and strengthen partnerships in the built environment. The initiative focused on encouraging leaders and academics to work closely with emerging talent.
Lina Saeed, chair of the CIOB Bahrain Hub, expressed her gratitude for the evening. “It was inspiring to see professionals, students, and leaders united by a common vision for the future of our industry,” she said, thanking British Ambassador Alastair Long for his “warm hospitality and continued support.”

The gathering also recognised academic achievement
The gathering also recognised academic achievement, with students who recently attained the CIOB Certificate of Excellence for top performance in accredited degree programmes being celebrated. One member was formally presented with their MCIOB certificate during the event.
CIOB’s Mena regional manager Matt Doran noted that the event was another example of the CIOB bringing together the “right people to shape the best outcomes for the construction sector across the Gulf region.”

Participants at the event
Mr Doran highlighted the benefits of CIOB accreditation for universities, which provides access to training resources and networking opportunities.
The CIOB supports construction professionals across Mena through its regional hubs and partnerships, focusing on embedding high standards of professionalism in areas like environmental sustainability, quality, and safety, while also addressing skills gaps faced by the industry worldwide.
