Volkswagen Bahrain launched the all-new Passat and the all-new Jetta 2026 vehicles at a dazzling rooftop launch ceremony held at the Behbehani Brothers premises in Sitra on Tuesday evening.
Attendees included Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, German Ambassador Henning Simon, Behbehani Brothers managing director Abdul Majeed Shirazi and directors Abbas Shirazi and Hussain Shirazi, alongside family member Reem Shirazi, automotive division head David Williams, deputy general manager Mohamed Janahi, senior management, valued customers and media representatives.
Guests enjoyed a captivating performance from a dance troupe which appeared as a ‘flash mob’ on stage, a group of people assembling in a public place to wow the crowd with an eye-catching routine, before unveiling an engaging presentation for the two vehicles across Bahrain’s evening skyline.
Volkswagen (VW) is set to make a powerful statement in the kingdom’s automotive landscape with the long-awaited return of the two icons – the VW Passat and the VW Jetta.
For decades, the Jetta and Passat have been trusted sedans in Bahrain, known for their balance of design, practicality and German engineering which is all about precision, safety and quality that defines every VW worldwide.
Their return marks a milestone moment for the brand, reintroducing models that have been reimagined to meet the needs of today’s customers while staying true to their legacy.
“After the absence of Jetta and Passat in 2021, we listened to customer feedback and brought them back,” Mr Hussain Shirazi told the GDN, on the sidelines of the launch.
“The highly anticipated launch event has been very unique with it being held on our premises’ rooftop – the first time in Bahrain. The price point of both vehicles in the market will be highly competitive.”
The all-new Passat sits at the heart of VW’s sedan story – a car that has sold more than 34 million units worldwide and continues to stand as a symbol of refinement and reliability.
As the longest in its segment and the most spacious Passat ever built, it redefines comfort for both drivers and passengers.
Among its standout highlights are class-leading rear seats with ventilation, massage and reclining functions, ‘turning every journey into a true business class experience’, says the marque.
Advanced technology features include Matrix LED headlights, a 15-inch infotainment system and the latest safety systems.
The all-new Jetta is back with its boldest form yet.
As the largest Jetta ever built, with the longest wheelbase in its class, it offers an interior that is more spacious and versatile than ever before.
Yet it remains true to its character as the more compact and agile sibling of the Passat.
Combined with a fresh design, advanced safety systems and smart technology features such as digital displays, seamless door handles, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and adaptive cruise control, the Jetta is designed to bring everyday practicality together with modern style and confidence, continuing the legacy of everyday driving confidence that has defined it for generations.
“The Jetta and Passat are two of Volkswagen’s most recognisable models worldwide, and their return is an exciting moment for us in Bahrain,” said Volkswagen Bahrain general manager Andrew Woolley.
“Both cars have been reimagined to deliver more space, innovation, and the quality that our customers expect. Their comeback marks the beginning of a new chapter for Volkswagen sedans in the region,” he added.
Together, the Passat and Jetta mark VW’s renewed strength in the sedan segment. Bigger, bolder, and packed with innovation, these models embody the brand’s vision of German engineered cars for the people; accessible, intelligent, and built with the needs of the region in mind.
The all-new Passat and all-new Jetta are available now at the Volkswagen showroom, Sitra.
