The Cabinet yesterday reviewed preparations undertaken by ministries and government agencies as well as the draft agenda for the 46th GCC Summit, being held under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Hamad on December 3.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet underscored the importance of the recent ‘Rabdan Shuwaiman’ joint military exercise between Bahrain and the UAE, which was attended by His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and UAE President and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The exercise reflects the depth of the historical co-operation between the two countries.
The Cabinet commended the address delivered by the King during his meeting with a group of citizens, athletes and members of the Supreme Organising and Executive Committees of the Third Asian Youth Games.
The Cabinet also extended its congratulations to the entities and individuals who were honoured in the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025, held in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Bahrain’s Internet connection.
The Cabinet also welcomed the peace efforts led by US President Donald Trump to bring an end to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict through diplomatic, security, and humanitarian principles, supporting economic co-operation, and preventing nuclear proliferation.
Several memorandums submitted by ministerial committees and ministers were reviewed, and the following were approved:
1. A draft resolution to form the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
2. A memorandum of understanding between the Education Ministry and the International Baccalaureate Organisation.
3. An MoU between the Education and Training Quality Authority and the University of Cambridge.
The Cabinet also reviewed:
1. The framework of priority programmes for the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance.
2. The framework of priority programmes for the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs.
The Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:
1. Outcomes of the kingdom’s participation in the European Refining Technology Conference.
2. Outcomes of the official visit of the Information Minister to Egypt.
3. Outcomes of the kingdom’s participation in the ninth edition of the Misk Global Forum.
