Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa today inaugurated the fifth Celebrate Bahrain Festival at the Heritage Village in Ras Hayyan, organised by the Ministry of Information.
The festival is being held as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day celebrations.
Upon arrival, His Highness was welcomed by the Minister of Information, Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, along with several senior officials.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the significance of these events in showcasing the Kingdom’s achievements across various sectors, as well as the tireless efforts of Bahrainis in driving progress, in line with the forward-looking visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He affirmed that the strong public participation in the National Day celebrations reflects the deep sense of national belonging and loyalty of the Kingdom’s Citizens.
He also emphasised the role of National Days in strengthening national identity, noting the importance of these events in educating younger generations about the Kingdom’s rich history and its comprehensive future development.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman commended the efforts of all entities in organising the festival, highlighting its role in fostering national values and ethics among the youth of Bahrain.
He expressed his gratitude to the personnel of the Ministry of Information and the event organisers for their efforts in ensuring the festival’s success and wished them continued success in contributing to the Kingdom’s aspirations.
Shaikh Mohammed witnessed the inaugural performance by the “Bahrain Choir,” a national artistic project launched by the Ministry of Information to coincide with the commencement of the National Day celebrations. The project aims to showcase the Kingdom’s rich musical heritage in a distinctive and contemporary style.
He then toured the festival, where he was briefed on its features, which include cultural activities, heritage displays, and traditional crafts that embody the authentic national identity and reflect Bahrain’s rich history and culture, alongside a market showcasing a variety of local products. The festival is being organised by several government entities in cooperation with private-sector partners.
For his part, the Minister of Information, Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, expressed his gratitude to Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for inaugurating the Celebrate Bahrain Festival at the Heritage Village.
Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi affirmed that the Celebrate Bahrain Festival is an opportunity to showcase the Kingdom’s achievements in line with its comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr Al Noaimi emphasised the Ministry’s commitment to hosting the festival annually in conjunction with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day celebrations, as it embodies Bahrain’s authentic identity, history, and culture, thereby enhancing national identity among future generations.
This year’s edition will run from the 4th of December to the 28th and focuses on providing innovative interactive experiences, along with a series of heritage workshops and training courses that enable visitors to gain hands-on experience in pottery, traditional ship-building models, palm frond weaving, inlaid chest-making, and textiles.
Other activities are spread throughout the Heritage Village, including a traditional market with the participation of several shops and productive families, a children’s corner offering a variety of activities, and traditional restaurants.
