Veteran Malayalam actor, screenwriter, and director Sreenivasan passed away today while undergoing treatment for cardiac-related complications.
With a career spanning over 50 years, Sreenivasan left an indelible mark on Malayalam cinema through his acting, direction, and screenwriting.
He was behind some of the industry’s most influential films, including Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, Midhunam, Nadodikkattu, and Pattanapravesham.
His works were celebrated for their emotional depth, sharp social commentary, and signature satirical humour.
Tributes have poured in from across the film fraternity, with industry stalwarts like Mohanlal and Mammootty expressing their grief. Mohanlal remarked, “I don't think that I am missing Sreenivasan. I believe that he is one of the rare few who will always live in our minds through his films.”
Sreenivasan was 69.
