Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority CEO Sara Buhiji said the kingdom received 15 million visitors in 2025, reflecting the success of Bahrain’s integrated tourism offering.
She noted that the increase was clearly reflected in higher hotel occupancy rates, increased visitor spending and a positive impact on overall economic growth.
Speaking to Sky News Arabia on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, Ms Buhiji said the tourism sector has become a key driver of the national economy due to the direct and indirect revenues it generates.
Looking ahead to 2026, she said the authority is implementing a diversified plan to attract more tourists from different markets, pointing to the recent Bahrain Festivities Season, which saw strong turnout and notable success.
