GOLF – SHUVENDU Bhaksi was the overall winner of the Veedol Stableford competition at Awali Golf Club.
Bhaksi played a brilliant round, breaking 90 gross and scoring points on all holes for a total of 40. His day was highlighted with a chip in for a birdie on hole 14 – a feat emulated by Debbie Beedie.
Bhaksi was just one shot ahead of both Nathan Prince and Abdul Elah Fakhroo, who scored 39 points each. As conditions were great to play, nine players scored equal or better than their handicap and many were close.
Meanwhile, Jasper Meinema finished in first place in flight one with 37 points. Nathan Prince won flight two with 39 points, while Daniel Guillaume took flight three with 37 points.
Following play, prizes were handed out by Awali Golf Club tournament director Balbir Singh, captain Steve Newall, and Veedol’s KN Singh, supported by his wife Ravinder.
