ENDURANCE HORSERACING – Khalid Raed Abdulrahman led a Victorious sweep of the podium after winning the 120-kilometre junior and youth ride yesterday in the His Majesty the King’s Cup Endurance Festival 2026, held at Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir.
His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the event, which was organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef).
Also on hand was Supreme Council for Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee deputy chairman, and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the His Majesty the King’s Cup Endurance Festival is one of the most prominent major championships of the season, and it enjoys a special status amongst riders and stables.
Shaikh Nasser crowned Abdulrahman, who spearheaded three Victorious riders to the top three.
Abdulaziz Yousef Taher finished in second place while Jaber Bader Jaafar claimed third.
Also yesterday, international qualifying races over 120km and 100km also took place.
Today, the festival’s main event, the His Majesty the King’s International Cup, will be held over a distance of 160km.
It is expected to carry the highest levels of competition due to the value of the title and the strength of participation, in addition to the race for His Majesty the King’s Cup for private Gulf stables, covering a distance of 120km.
